Lancers' U11 girls lacrosse wins two
The Under-11 Lancers (5-1) won two consecutive games this past week, downing Damascus 9-2 and Mount Airy, 6-3.
Against Damascus, Rebecca Lucente tallied three goals while, Alysa Adams fired in two. Devin Coombs, Michaela Metcalf, Ashley Adams, and Aiden Peduzzi added a goal each. Hannah Clingan, Aiden Peduzzi, Clio Kerr, Claire Snyder, and Allie Frontin were prolific in beating Damascus to ground balls.
On Thursday the Lancers edged local rivals Mt Airy. Victoria Rock and Kassy Thamarus posted two goals each in the win, while Hannah Clingan, and Alysa Adams scored a goal each. Winning goalkeeper Melissa Semkiw came up with 12 saves.
The Carroll Manor Athletic Association (CMAA) Junior Golf Program will run an eight-week program from June 25 through Aug. 20 at the Glade Valley Golf Course in Walkersville for children ages 7-15.
The unique junior golf program has three two-hour instructional camps, and five 9-hole on-course play sessions. Golf instruction is conducted by golf professionals at Glade Valley. Registration will run until June 12, or until all slots are filled. Cost per player is $185.
Space is limited and the first paid and received 32 registrants will be entered into the program.

The Tuscarora Junior Titans will hold sign-ups for their youth football and cheerleading programs from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 2 Tuscarora High. Registration can also be done by mail, as forms are available online.
Fees are $150 for football, $80 for flag football, $130 for cheerleading, and $40 for flag cheerleading. All boys and girls ages 4-14 are welcome. The Tuscarora Jr. Titans are a member of the Mountain Valley Football League (MVFL). The organization is the feeder program for Tuscarora High.
