Voters will remember in November
The decision by three members of the Rockville Mayor and City Council to fund the $1.7 million in raises for city staff in this economic downturn is a slap in the face to its residents.
Mayor Susan R. Hoffman and council members John Britton and Piotr Gajewski are out of touch with voters. Phyllis Marcuccio and Anne M. Robbins stood their ground on this issue showing solidarity with elected county, state and federal officials.
You can be assured the next time the city of Rockville goes looking for a handout, it will be reminded of its failure to act in a responsible manner during a fiscal crisis. I am glad this is an election year.
The slogan that has come to my attention by a third party is, "Remember in November." You had better believe I'll remember. It is time to send some of these folks packing.
