County police reports
The following is a summary of incidents in Wheaton-Glenmont to which the Montgomery County Police responded recently. The words "arrested" and "charged" do not imply guilt.
Aggravated assault
- On April 30 at 12:34 a.m. in the 1700 block of University Boulevard West in Kensington. Domestic-related. A man was stabbed by a woman after a verbal argument. His injuries were non-life-threatening. A 49-year-old woman from Kensington was arrested.
Abduction/aggravated assault
- On May 3 at 9:30 p.m. in the 2300 block of Shorefield Road in Silver Spring. A woman was on foot when a man approached her, grabbed her and displayed a knife. The man forced the woman to walk with him to a secluded area. The woman struggled against the man and was able to free herself. The man was described as a Hispanic male, 25-30, 5 feet 6 inches tall, 180 pounds, curly hair, mole on right cheek, odor of alcohol.
Armed robbery
- On May 1 at 12:15 a.m. at Amberleigh Drive and Delilah Drive in Colesville. The victim was stabbed, and property was taken. The suspects were described as three males.
Street robbery
- On April 28 at 11:55 p.m. at Connecticut Avenue and Peppertree Lane in Aspen Hill. A man was on foot when two men drove up in an SUV and one man exited, displayed a gun and demanded money. The victim complied. Two 20- 21-year-old males were arrested. The vehicle was described as a blue Jeep Cherokee.
Indecent exposure
- On April 29 at 2:25 p.m. in the 2400 block of Blueridge Avenue in Silver Spring. The female victim, a Verizon employee, asked some men working in an apartment if they could direct her to the phone box. One man showed her the location of the box and then pulled the door closed behind them. He then exposed himself and reached out to grab the victim. The victim warded off the suspect and called 911. A 29-year-old male from Rockville was arrested.
Commercial burglary
- Mattress Discounters, 11410 Georgia Ave. in Silver Spring, overnight between April 26 and April 27. Attempted forced entry, none gained.
- Computer center, 11175 Georgia Ave. in Silver Spring, at 5:20 a.m. April 27. Forced entry, nothing taken.
Residential burglary
- 15900 block of Mt. Everest Lane in Silver Spring, between 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. April 26. Attempted forced entry, none gained, nothing taken.
- 2600 block of Camelback Lane in Aspen Hill, between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. April 26. Forced entry, property taken.
- 14100 block of Pear Tree Lane in Aspen Hill, between 3:50 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. April 27. Forced entry, property taken. A 14-year-old female from Montgomery Village, a 15-year-old female from Prince George's County and a 22-year-old male from Prince George's County were arrested.
- 12200 block of Atherton Drive in Silver Spring, between 10:54 p.m. and 10:58 p.m. on April 27. Forced entry, property taken.
- 10400 block of Hemley Lane in Silver Spring, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on April 27. No forced entry, property taken.
