Festival seeks volunteers Jillian DeShazer sums up the need for volunteers at the annual Frederick Festival of the Arts very simply: ‘‘Without volunteers, there is no festival.” With that in mind, the nonprofit organization is looking for community members to help with the 15th annual event, which makes its return to the Carroll Creek Linear Park on Saturday, June 7 and Sunday, June 8. Each year, artisans from across the country come to Frederick, along with musicians and other entertainers, for the two-day festival. Ninety-five artists from 20 states are signed up for this year’s event. All volunteers get free admission to the event, are entered in a raffle and earn a free T-shirt. Volunteer orientation sessions are scheduled from 1-2:15 p.m., May 31 and from 6-7:30 p.m., June 2 at the C. Burr Artz Library Community Room, 110 E. Patrick St., Frederick. To volunteer, sign up online at www.frederickarts.org or contact the festival office at 301-694-9632.
