Rowena Hobson Dronenburg, 89, of Dickerson, died April 21.
Born May 20, 1921, in Lucketts, Va., she was the daughter of the late Birtrand and Lela (Trussell) McKimmey.
She was the wife of the late George W. Dronenburg.
Mrs. Dronenburg graduated with the last class of Lucketts High School in 1938. She worked as a teller for Loudoun National Bank and later she was a salesperson at Sew and Save Fabrics in Clarksburg.
Mrs. Dronenburg was a member of Forest Grove United Methodist Church in Dickerson and taught Sunday school.
She was also a member of the Women's Society of Christian Service. Mrs. Dronenburg's hobbies included sewing and cooking.
Survivors of Mrs. Dronenburg include her two children, Patricia Carte and her husband, Larry, of Inwood, W.Va., and Joseph H. Dronenburg of Dickerson; a former daughter-in-law, five grandchildren and three great-granddaughters. She was preceded in death by a sister, Frances Wenner; three brothers, Charles McKimmey, James McKimmey and Harold McKimmey; and one grandson.
Funeral services were held April 28 in Frederick. Burial followed in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
