Autopsy pending after body found in Landover
Police unable to determine gender for body found Thursday
A body found in Landover on Thursday morning has been transported to the state medical examiner's office to determine a cause of death, after the body was found in such condition that police could not determine the gender, officials said.
The body was found at approximately 11 a.m. in the 6900 block of Hawthorne Street in Landover. Larry Johnson, a spokesman for the Prince George's County Police Department, could not confirm Thursday whether the poor condition of the body was due to decomposition, trauma or another cause.
The discovery of the body is being treated as a death investigation until the medical examiner in Baltimore makes a ruling on the cause of death, Johnson said.
