Paradigm Holdings Inc. of Rockville acquired Trinity Information Management Services Inc. of McLean, Va., which reported revenues of more than $4.0 million in 2006.

American Capital Strategies Ltd. of Bethesda led an $8 million investment round in Coghead Inc. of Redwood City, Calif., which included a $4.5 million equity investment by American Capital and its affiliate American Capital Equity Fund I LLC. Coghead provides a Web-based platform designed to help users create, manage and deliver their own Web-based applications. SAP Ventures and existing Coghead investor El Dorado Ventures also participated in the financing.

Hughes Network Systems LLC of Germantown was selected by TerreStar Networks Inc., a subsidiary of Motient Corp., to design, develop, and manufacture a turnkey satellite base station subsystem and satellite air interface protocol. The contract includes installation at TerreStar’s two satellite gateway facilities.
