Council: Full school funding is unlikely

Intense lobbying may not succeed in making up $19.7 million difference between Weast’s, Leggett’s plans

As many as 600 people rallied April 11 at the County Council Building in Rockville to urge lawmakers to approve the full $1.99 billion budget request the school board forwarded to the County Council. County Executive Isiah Leggett included all but $19.7 million in his operating budget proposal.
