Be creative for a cause
The Montgomery County Public Schools School Energy and Recycling Team (SERT) is sponsoring a contest to promote energy conservation and recycling awareness within the school system.
High school students are challenged to create a public awareness campaign around energy conservation and recycling strategies in their schools. Campaigns should be a collaborative student effort within the high school community, including the Student Government Association clubs; newspapers; and all other groups or individuals who can create awareness and effect change.
Portfolios, which should be sent to the SERT office, 2096 Gaither Road, Rockville, MD 20850, should outline goals, strategies, plans and accomplishments. A short video presentation should be included that outlines the goals outlined in the portfolio. The campaigns will be used as models to promote energy conservation and recycling throughout the system.
