Two arrested in Friday slaying
Landover men charged with fatally shooting D.C. man, wounding another in Palmer Park
Two Landover men were arrested Saturday and charged with murder following a Friday night shooting in Palmer Park that killed one man and wounded a second.
Thomas Freddie Hughes, 22, of the 3500 block of Hubbard Road and Jerrod Malik Peterson, 19, of the 8100 block of Allendale Court were charged with the first-degree murder of Domonique Anton Gordon, 26, of the 1100 block of Queen Street NE in Washington, D.C.
Officer Larry Johnson, a Prince George's County Police spokesman, said the shooting resulted from a drug-related robbery but had no further details.
Police responded about 10:18 p.m. Friday to the 8100 block of Allendale Drive in Palmer Park to find Gordon, 26, suffering from an upper body gunshot wound and a 34-year-old male from Washington, D.C., shot in his lower body. Both were transported to a hospital where Gordon later died and the second male remains in stable condition.
Hughes and Peterson are being held without bond at the Prince George's County jail in Upper Marlboro. The case is still under investigation. Residents with additional information are asked to call the county's Homicide Unit at 301-772-4925.
