Temple Hills man found dead Thursday night in apartment stairwell
Homicide marked second of the day in Prince George's
A Temple Hills man was found dead in the stairwell of his Temple Hills apartment complex Thursday night, in the second killing of the day in southern Prince George's County.
Officers responded to a report of a shooting at 4411 23rd Parkway at approximately 9:35 p.m. and found Gregory Lucious Lawton Jr., 31, suffering from trauma to the body. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Cpl. Larry Johnson, a spokesman for the Prince George's County Police Department, could not confirm Friday morning the nature of the trauma.
No phone number was available for Lawton's family.
At approximately 4:22 a.m. Thursday, a double-shooting was reported about 3 miles away, in the 2900 block of Victory Lane in Suitland. One man was killed and another hospitalized. Police had no updates Friday on the identity of man killed or the condition of the other man.
No suspects have been arrested in the cases, and investigators are asking anyone with information to contact the Prince George's County Police Department's Homicide Unit at 301-772-4925.
