AAI Services, a wholly owned subsidiary of AAI Corp. of Hunt Valley, won a $12.6 million from Boeing Co. to provide an additional landing gear trainer in support of Air Force F-22 Raptor combat aircraft. Science Applications International Corp. of San Diego plans to acquire SM Consulting Inc. of Linthicum, which provides services in language, intelligence, information technology, management consulting, business process outsourcing, training, and logistics to governments and private industry. SM Consulting, which will join SAIC’s unit in Reston, Va., has more than 460 employees and offices in Linthicum, Reston and other U.S. locations. Chemical company W.R. Grace & Co. of Columbia has invested in Ceratech Inc. of Baltimore, which has developed environmentally friendly technologies for producing high-strength, fast-setting concrete primarily using fly ash, a waste product from coal-fired power plants, according to a Grace statement. Pitney Bowes Group 1 Software of Lanham and Oracle were selected by the city of Winnipeg, Manitoba, to create more reader-friendly utility documents. PROPERTY Modern Magic Hotel LLC, a joint venture of LaSalle Hotel Properties of Bethesda and Oxford OG Hospitality Chicago LLC, acquired from Prime Group Realty Trust floors 2 through 13 and a portion of the first floor of the 52-story IBM Building in downtown Chicago for $46.0 million. The venture plans to convert the existing vacant floors, totaling about 375,000 square feet, to a luxury hotel. LaSalle Hotel Properties holds a 95 percent controlling interest in Modern Magic Hotel.
