Work together on immigration
It was unfortunate that the first person who stepped up to "ask questions" at the town hall meeting on illegal immigration ["Groups push for immigration focus in elections," March 4] immediately launched into hate speech (yes, hate speech) directed at the panelists. Her statement, "more like a Klan rally," was just the tip of her red-hot eruption of stingers. It appeared that she and her friends did not come to listen to anything questioning their world view.
It's also regretful that many of us took offense that night. It's difficult to maintain one's composure after having received personal and derogatory assaults. Someday, hopefully, we can all search for the truth together.
