Police identify man found in Lake Linganore dam
Sheriff's Office still investigating the circumstances of Morgan Platt's death
Police have released the identity of the man whose body was found by two fishermen last week in the Lake Linganore dam.
Morgan Wardlaw Platt, 24, of New Market was identified Friday after police released his description to the public, according to Cpl. Jennifer Bailey, spokeswoman for the Frederick County Sheriff's Office.
Bailey said Platt's family last saw him on March 3, but did not report him missing. His body was recovered from the Brosius Dam on Lake Linganore at about 5:30 p.m. March 11, after a daylong recovery effort.
The body was turned over to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore, where an autopsy was performed Friday.
Bailey said investigators have not determined how long Platt was in the water and they are not releasing details about the autopsy because the results are pending.
A woman who answered the phone at his home on Monday identified herself as a family friend, and said the family is not ready to talk about Platt.
The Sheriff's Office is searching for leads in the case, and asks anyone with any knowledge about the man to call 301-600-4131.
