A Silver Spring woman reported missing last week was found in her car, slumped over the steering wheel in a church parking lot in Damascus Thursday morning. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Relatives called police to report Doris Ann Steele, 53, of the 10300 block of Sweetbriar Parkway missing March 3 after they were unable to contact her by cell phone, said Cpl. Dan Friz, a Montgomery County Police spokesman. They were concerned because Steele had a history of depression, he said.

Just after 7:30 a.m. Thursday, someone called 911 to report spotting a car with a person who might be injured inside in the parking lot of Tri-County Baptist Church at 7821 Damascus Road. There was no evidence of foul play, Friz said. An autopsy is being conducted, he said.
