Barry Locke

Barry Myles Locke, 76, of Montgomery Village, formerly of Potomac, died of a heart attack March 4, 2007, in Rockville.

Born Dec. 21, 1930, in Boston, he was a son of the late Arthur and Lillian Locke.

He was the husband of Ann Locke for 49 years.

Mr. Locke served in the U.S. Army from 1953-1955. He graduated from Boston University and was a political consultant. He was president of Chi Centers Inc. for five years and was a member of I.T.S. America. He received the Spirit to Serve Award from Marriott International in 2006.

Survivors in addition to his wife include three children, Vanessa Sweeney and husband Dan of Urbana, Valerie Foster and husband Barney of Rockville and Alison Theodore and husband Phil of Gaithersburg; one brother, Alan Locke and wife Betty of Falls Church, Va.; and three grandchildren.

A celebration of his life will be held today from 4-6:30 p.m. at Bohrer Park, 506 South Frederick Ave. in Gaithersburg. Burial will be private.
