Charge toll on bikeway, not ICC, as proposed
The proposed Inter-county Connector bikeway seems to be on the road to being fast-tracked through the funding process, unlike the ICC itself, which was delayed for 60 years by the Nimbys, Montgomery and Prince George's County in-fighting, environmentalists, and the Montgomery County Council's Rockville-centric bias to any needed east county development.
With all this, the ICC is finally being built to finally fix the years of needed east county road infrastructure. Unfortunately it is being built as a toll road, which again won't affect people in Rockville, but will affect the people along its route in their daily trips and will continue to segregate Prince George's from Montgomery.
If the funding can now be found for a bikeway along the ICC (even with the current state of the economy), why don't you use it to eliminate the need for tolls on the ICC itself?
If you still want a bikeway along the ICC after that, then make it a toll bikeway.
