Sportsplex team finishes well in weekend meets
The Sportsplex Gymnastics team competed in the 12th Annual Star Struck Invitational in Atlantic City, N.J., last weekend. The Level 7 team finished in second place, while the Level 6 team took third.
In addition to the team trophy, several gymnasts performed well in individual events. In the junior level, Audrey Barber placed second in the floor and third on the uneven bars. Jasmyn Parham took second on the vault and Lauren Roach won first on the vault and first on the floor. In the mid-level category, Michaela Miles took first on the vault. Victoria Hogberg placed third in the all-around, while Jerrese Adams placed third on the floor. Lena Gillis placed second on the vault.
The Level 6 team was led by: Ashley Belle (second on the vault), Lena Morant (third on uneven bars), Simone Murphy (first on floor, first on vault, second on uneven bars, third on beam and first all-around), Morganne Oliver (third on floor, second on balance beam and second all-around).
The Sportsplex boys' gymnastics team participated in the Men's Maryland Division Qualifier held at Ultimate Gymanstics in Baltimore.
The Level 5 team was led by: Miles Walker (first still rings, second vault, first parallel bars, first high bars, first all-around), Shawn Murphy led the Level 4 team with a second place in the vault. Christian Gay, Christian Manning, Brandon Baskin, Chase Drewery and Drew Wallace also performed well.

The Prince George's Lacrosse Club is planning registration for the upcoming season. The league offers instructional play for boys ages 6 to 14.
