Tuesday boys' basketball roundup
Bowie holds off Suitland; DuVal tops Wise; Friendly stays perfect in league
The Bowie High School boys' basketball team kept up its winning ways Tuesday night, beating Suitland 57-56.
Suitland missed a potential game-winning shot with 3 seconds left. A scramble for the rebound ensued and time expired, allowing the Bulldogs to escape with another close victory. Bowie notched a two-point win Monday night against Bladensburg and a three-point victory against Henry A. Wise on Friday.
Bowie coach Cedric Holbrook was frustrated with his team's execution.
"Our problems aren't with the other team we're playing against, they're with ourselves," Holbrook said. "When we get lax we get put in bad positions, like tonight."
Bowie takes on Charles H. Flowers on Friday night, a team the Bulldogs beat on a last-second shot by guard Nate Goldsmith on Jan. 22.

"We went out of a zone and put Lito and [Keith] Crocket on him and what we try to do is just stay in front of him," Walker said of Golladay. "He's a tough player."
