Elizabeth McDonough
Elizabeth Ann McDonough, 94, of Rockville, died of congestive heart failure on Jan. 8, 2010, in Suburban Hospital.
Born Feb. 9, 1915, in Ludlow, Ky., she was a daughter of the late John J. Sr. and Mary E. Donovan.
She was the wife of the late John J. McDonough Sr. for 32 years.
Mrs. McDonough graduated from LaSalette Academy in Covington, Ky., in 1934 and from Littleford-Nelson Business College in Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1936. She was a member of the Home and School Association of St. Elizabeth School, Rockville and the Mothers' Clubs of the Academy of the Holy Cross in Kensington and St. John's College High School in Washington, D.C.
Survivors include five children, Dr. John J. McDonough Jr. and wife, Barbara of Cincinnati, Ohio, Mary S. Cranford and husband, H. Bruce of Potomac, Jane A. Milne and husband, Stephen and Timothy J. McDonough Sr. and wife, Jennifer, all of Rockville, and James C. McDonough Sr. and wife, Deborah of Derwood; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Mary E. Donovan and Catherine M. King, both of Ludlow, Ky., Ann D. Grieme of Fort Thomas, Ky., and Margaret D. Massa of Cincinnati, Ohio; and four brothers, John J. Donovan Jr. of Ludlow, Ky., the Rev. Charles A. Donovan of Fort Thomas, Ky., and Owen Donovan and James Donovan Sr., both of Cincinnati, Ohio.
Funeral services were on Jan. 12 at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church in Rockville. Burial was in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Silver Spring.
