The Music Center at Strathmore will celebrate its five-year anniversary with "Luck Be a Lady" at 8 p.m. Friday in the Concert Hall, 5301 Tuckerman Lane, North Bethesda. Cabaret and comedy star Jim Caruso, as master of ceremonies, will introduce Broadway's Julia Murney, Emily Skinner and Rachel York, who will perform a best-of-Broadway program, including songs by Sondheim and Kinder & Ebb. The Symphony of the Potomac, under the direction of Joel Lazar, will perform contrasting works by Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven, the masters of the Viennese classical musical tradition, at 3 p.m. Sunday at Georgetown Preparatory School's Figge Theatre, 10900 Rockville Pike, North Bethesda. Arts Alive Theatre presents "The Race," John Milosich's autobiographical play, at 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12, and Saturday, Feb. 13, and 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 15, at the Montgomery College Performing Arts Center's Theatre 2, 7995 Georgia Ave., Silver Spring. Milosich portrays himself and a host of characters in questioning his position of racial and social privilege, and challenging the apathy and prejudice that characterized his blue collar upbringing.
