Open Forum: Comcast complaints ring true to me

I would like to second Steven Karsh's complaints against Comcast in the January 10 edition of The Gazette, but I don't think he goes far enough.

Not only have their rates increased more than once since they replaced Adelphia, this month's price hike was concurrent with the actual removal of channels from the standard service package. One in particular has been especially galling to customers: the TV Guide channel.

Who ever heard of a TV provider without a channel guide for their basic customers?

Besides that, those who enjoy watching C-SPAN2 must endure the frequent, jolting interruption of MASN2 broadcasts in the evening. This happens even when the same game is being shown on another network. Adding to this frustration is when there is merely a blank screen with a “no signal“ notice, presumably during satellite problems.

Couldn't someone at least continue the C-SPAN2 events during those times?

Perhaps the most annoying thing about Comcast is its ubiquitous, corny commercials you just can't escape from, and which oftentimes extend over top of the show you're watching.

Come to think of it, the performance itself of Comcast has been fantastic advertising. Unfortunately for them, it's fantastic advertising for Direct TV, Dish Network, etc.
