Profession: "I can consider myself as a corporate executive and technologist. I am currently president and CEO at Widearea Systems and former senior vice president and chief technology officer at Qovia."
How he came to launch Widearea Systems: "Unified communication is another buzz word, but the concept is very simple, that is about convergence. ... With 25 years experience in [the] telecommunication and computer industry, I knew [unified communication] will make a difference and make a lot of money."
Education: "I graduated from University of Wisconsin with an M.S. in computer science a long time ago …[and] I got some seminary training."
Residence: Ijamsville. "I moved to Ijamsville from Columbia five years ago when my partner and I started a company in Monrovia. ... But I had a hard time [convincing] my wife and my two sons. My two sons were in high school at that time. It was a tough decision."
Family: Wife, Myoung; two sons, Albert and Aaron. "My sons are over 18, meaning they don't want to play basketball with me anymore. And they are referring to me as my old man.' I guess they are grown ..."
Last book read: "I am a religious person who reads the Holy Bible every day. I am trying to live by faith described in the Bible."
Last movie seen: "Marley and Me." "I can relate to them even though I do not have any pets. I can easily be one of them."
Community involvement: "I am a cell group leader and teacher at Zion of Jesus Community Baptist Church in Jefferson. I love to get involved in other community activities if my time permits. I am very interested in getting involved in helping needy minorities in Frederick."
Favorite vacation spot: "It has to be Miami. I love warm weather and [the] beach."
Hobbies and pastimes: "I am not good at playing golf, but I enjoy it. I am living in a golf course [development], but it is not helping my golf skill. I lose at least three balls per game."
His proudest accomplishments: "To acquire Magicsoft Corp. and turn it around. We acquired the products and substantial operating assets of Magicsoft last March.
