County police reports
The following is a summary of incidents in the 1st District (Rockville) and the 4th District (Wheaton-Glenmont) to which the Montgomery County Police responded recently. The words "arrested" and "charged" do not imply guilt.
1st District
Aggravated assault
-On Jan. 5 at 1:45 a.m. at Visionary Designs, 12058 Parklawn Drive in North Bethesda. The sound of breaking glass and gun shots was reported to police. Officers confirmed shots were fired at the windows but no one was injured. No one was seen.
-On Dec. 29 between 1 and 1:30 p.m. in the 200 block of Argyle Street in Rockville. A man and his friend got in an argument with two men who pulled out guns and fired a shot into the ground. A 16-year-old male and a 19-year-old man were arrested later that day.
Indecent exposure
-On Dec. 31 at 1:10 p.m. at Veirs Mill Road and Connecticut Avenue in Wheaton. A man approached a person and asked her what she was looking at. She then noticed that he was exposing himself. The man is described as black, 25-30, 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall, unshaven, wearing a black hat, black jacket and grey sweatpants.
Robbery
-On Dec. 28 at 11:45 a.m. outside McDonald's, 2101 Veirs Mill Road in Rockville. A man left the restaurant while talking on his cell phone. Two men followed him, beat him and took personal property. One robber is described as Hispanic, 45, 5 feet tall, 180 pounds, beard, wearing a black leather cap, black knit hat and black leather jacket. The second is described as Hispanic, 40, 5 feet 3 inches tall, 190 pounds, wearing a black knit hat, black leather jacket and jeans, and riding a grey bicycle.
-On Jan. 5 at 7:20 p.m. on the path between England Terrace and Virginia Avenue in Rockville. A man was walking from the Rockville Metro when three men asked him for money. The men beat the victim and took personal property. One described as white, 17-20, 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall, wearing a black leather jacket. A second is described as white, 17-20, 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall, wearing a black leather jacket. A third is described as black, 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall, wearing red and black checkered jacket.
Vehicle theft
-12700 block of Veirs Mill Road in Rockville, between 8 and 8:15 p.m. Dec. 30. The victim was unloading her vehicle and had left the keys inside. The 1993 Honda Accord was recovered later that night when the vehicle struck another vehicle in another part of the county.
-Rockville Audi-Porsche, 1125 Rockville Pike in Rockville, on Dec. 30. Two women fraudulently purchased vehicles from two different automobile showrooms.
Vehicle larceny
-Target Store, 5700 Bou Ave. in North Bethesda, at 8:05 p.m. Jan. 1. The victim left her purse unattended in her shopping cart and returned to find the keys and several other belongings missing. A man was seen inside her vehicle. He threw the keys at the victim and fled on foot. A witness had seen the suspect walking around the garage earlier attempting to open vehicles. He described as black, 30-35, 6 feet to 6 feet 1 inch tall, 180 pounds, mustache, wearing a grey wool hat, green jacket and blue jeans.
-500 block of Edmonston Drive, 300 block of Dean Drive, 1200 block of Allison Drive, 13200 block of Ardennes Avenue, 500 block of Calvin lane, 300 block of Nimitz Avenue, 500 block of Woodburn Road and 1000 block of Taft Street, between 7 p.m. Dec. 29 and 12:15 a.m. Dec. 30. Broke windows; GPS units taken from six vehicles.
-Shady Grove Metro, between Dec. 28 and Jan. 5. Windows broken in seven vehicles; property taken from three.
-500 block of Rutgers Street in Rockville, between 9 p.m. Dec. 31 and at 10 a.m. Jan. 1. Windows were broken in at least six vehicles in the parking lot; GPS unit taken from two vehicles.
-400 block of College Parkway in Rockville, between 9 p.m. Dec. 31 and 10 a.m. Jan. 1. Broke window; GPS taken.
Commercial burglary
-Kings Way Care Pharmacy, 4701 Randolph Road in Rockville, between Jan. 2 and 4. Attempted forced entry; nothing taken.
-Hostess Bakery, 1175 Taft St. in Rockville, between 6 and 9 p.m. Dec. 30. Attempted forced entry; nothing taken.
-Cameron Seafood, 875 Hungerford Drive in Rockville, between 8:45 p.m. Dec. 31 and 9 a.m. Jan. 1. Unknown entry; nothing taken. A 27-year-old man was arrested.
-Century Distributors, 15710 Crabbs Branch Way in Rockville, between 6 p.m. Dec. 31 and 2:47 p.m. Jan. 1. No forced entry; property taken from warehouse.
-TRG Customer Solutions, 751 Rockville Pike in Rockville, between 9 p.m. Dec. 29 and 8 a.m. Dec. 30. Unknown entry; property taken.
Residential burglary
-Alsace Lane in Rockville, between 12:15 and 4:15 p.m. Jan. 2. Forced entry; property taken.
-Bullard Court in Rockville, at 9:13 p.m. Jan. 5. Forced entry; property taken.
-16100 block of Crabbs Branch Way in Rockville, on Jan. 5. Unknown entry; unknown if property was taken.
-300 block of Lorraine Drive in Rockville, between 4 and 6:30 p.m. Jan. 2. No forced entry; property taken.

4th District
Aggravated assault
-On Jan. 1 at 2:30 a.m. in the 12700 block of Flack Street in Wheaton. While attempting to help a friend who had been assaulted, the victim and the friend were assaulted by a group of males and females. The suspect vehicle is described as a silver Subaru WRX.
-On Dec. 31 at 12:45 a.m. in the 11300 block of Galt Avenue in Wheaton. The assailant and victim were acquainted.
Indecent exposure
-On Jan. 1 at 5 p.m. at Subway Restaurant, 11331 Georgia Ave. in Wheaton. A person was waiting to order food and observed a man expose himself while watching a female. The victim saw the man again the following day in the same area and called 911. A 27-year-old male of no fixed address was arrested.
Sex assault
-On Jan. 2 at 11:51 a.m. in the 1700 block of Alberti Drive in Silver Spring. Acquaintance related. Two men sexually assaulted a female who was able to flee the scene.
Armed robbery
-On Dec. 30 at 8 p.m. at the bus stop at Georgia Avenue and Layhill Road in Aspen Hill. A woman was seated at the bus stop. A man approached and displayed a knife. He took the victim's purse and ran toward Judson Road and Sheraton Street. The robber is described as Hispanic, 20-25, 6 feet tall, 150 pounds, wearing a grey scarf and black jacket.
Strong-arm robbery
-On Dec. 29 at 11:34 a.m. at Georgia Avenue and University Boulevard in Wheaton. No further information available. The suspect vehicle is described as a red Nissan.
Residential burglary
-13300 block of Burkhart Street in Colesville, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Jan. 3. Attempted forced entry; nothing taken.
-18500 block of New Hampshire Avenue in Sandy Spring, at 7:51 a.m. Dec. 27. Unknown entry; property taken. The suspect vehicle is described as a dark-colored 1990's Ford Explorer with a damaged roof rack.
-14200 block of Weeping Willow Drive in Aspen Hill, between 7:15 a.m. and 5:45 p.m. Dec. 30. Property taken.
-3000 block of Hewitt Avenue in Aspen Hill, at 3:15 a.m. Jan. 4. Acquaintance related. An 18-year-old man from Silver Spring was arrested.
-3400 block of May Street in Silver Spring, between midnight and 2:30 a.m. Jan. 2. Forced entry; nothing taken.
-4000 block of Heathfield Road in Aspen Hill, at 2:30 a.m. Jan. 3. Attempted forced entry.
