Boys basketball: Queen Anne pulls out win vs. St. Anselm's
The Queen Anne School boys' basketball team moved into sole possession of second place in the Potomac Valley Athletic Conference with a 63-59 victory against St. Anselm's on Saturday.
Edmond Wright hit four 3-pointers, the last of which gave the Lions a 61-59 lead with 40 seconds to play. Wright finished with a game-high 21 points, and Larry Haley added 20 points, eight rebounds, and five assists for Queen Anne.
St. Anselm's (8-4, 5-2): Carpenter 17, Korulakis 13, Tharakan 13, Breslin 10, Thompson 6. Totals 23 7-10 59.
Queen Anne (11-3, 7-1): Wright II 21, Haley 20, Brown 6, Meadows 6, Battle 5, Bramble 3, Bolt 2. Totals 24 10-21 63.
