New school wastes our money
June 20, 2005

I am amazed that our county government continues to proceed with the flawed plan to close Seven Locks Elementary School and build a replacement school on Kendale Road.

The replacement school would cost an estimated $20 million, versus an estimated $10 million to expand the existing Seven Locks to accommodate Potomac Elementary School overflow.

This waste of taxpayer dollars is an appalling example of our county government's lack of fiscal responsibility. Abandoning the replacement school plan will provide an immediate $10 million in much-needed tax relief to our county's beleaguered taxpayers.
