Through the first four weeks of the Prince-Mont Swim League this summer, the Fort Washington Sharks have torn through their opponents as if they were wayward swimmers caught in the midst of a feeding frenzy. July 14 was no exception as Fort Washington beat Pointer Ridge 313-225 to keep its perfect record intact.

Fort Washington swimmers won 37 of the 47 events against Pointer Ridge, including all three relays, to move to 4-0 this summer. The Sharks boasted five triple winners and a bevy of double winners, serving notice that a number of them will look to enhance their reputations at the county all-star meet next month.

Abby Downs, competing in the 11-12 girls' division, kicked off her hat trick by taking the 50-meter butterfly (39.20) by nearly three seconds over PR's Emily Voight. Downs edged PR's Jessica Virgin to win the 50 freestyle (34.67) then completed her hat trick by beating Voight again in the 100 individual medley (1:33.45).

Colleen McFadden, competing in the girls' 9-10 bracket, won her three events in impressive fashion. McFadden took the 50 free (34.95) by nearly eight full seconds, annexed the 25 breaststroke (23.83) by just over two seconds, and captured the 25 backstroke (20.41) by nearly five seconds.

Rachel LaRoque, competing in the girls' 13-14 division, beat PR's Amy Lohr by nearly two seconds to take the 50 fly (38.13), then downed PR's Josie Virgin by 3.5 seconds to capture the 50 breast (43.67), and edged teammate Rachel McFadden by less than a second to annex the 100 IM (1:27.98).

Lauren Stewart, swimming in the girls' 15-18 category, started her triple by taking the 50 fly (34.90) by six-tenths of a second over PR's Larissa Myers. She later downed teammate Teresa Tomassoni by nearly two seconds to take the 50 breast (41.67), and completed her hat trick by winning the 50 back (36.78) by four seconds over teammate Kate Downs.

Nicholas Ruehe was the lone FW male swimmer to earn a triple, taking the 13-14 boys' 50 free (31.26) by more than two seconds, the 50 breast (39.77) by over a full second, and he defeated teammate Marc Champaloux by three seconds to annex the 100 IM (1:26.41).

FW had a number of double winner. Dakota Hinely won the 8-under boys 25 free (18.65) and 25 back (25.45) by two seconds. Jonathan Brevard won the boys' 10-under 25 fly (21.16) and 50 free (40.48). Bryson Stewart took the 15-18 boys' 50 fly (31.41) and the 100 IM (1:12.71), Tomassoni won the 15-18 girls' 100 free (1:12.34) and 100 IM (1:23.25), and Leandra Bittlefield won the girls' 8-under 25 free (21.11) and 25 back (26.59).
