Ernest William Ausherman


Mr. Ernest William Ausherman, 82, of Jefferson, died Friday, Dec. 22, at Alterra at Whittier in Frederick.

He was a developer/builder and owner of Ausherman Construction Co. in Frederick.

He was the husband of Hilda L. Mercer Ausherman. They were married for 61 years.

Born Jan. 1, 1918, in Unionville, he was a son of the late Milton Keefer and Daisy Virginia Haller Ausherman.

Mr. Ausherman was a founding member, past president and life director of the Frederick County Builder's Association. He received the first Lifetime Achievement Award in 1996.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II from May 1944 to February 1946.

He was an active member of the Frederick Church of the Brethren, where he was a member of the deacon and church boards.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Janice A. Walsh and husband James H. of Richmond, Va.; three sons, Curtis W. Ausherman and wife Frances I. of Williamsport, Marvin E. Ausherman of Frederick, and Dale E. Ausherman and wife Candace J. of Middletown; two brothers, Theodore Ausherman of New Oxford, Pa., and Carroll M. Ausherman of Adamstown; one sister, Madeline Stover of York, Pa.; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Goldie Ausherman and Irene V. Sanbower; three brothers, Melvin K., Herbert and Chester M. Ausherman; and one grandson, Christopher Ausherman.

Funeral services were held on Dec. 28, at Frederick Church of the Brethren The Rev. Paul Mundey officiated.

Interment was in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Frederick.

Kenneth O. Connelly

Mr. Kenneth O. Connelly Sr., 70, died Sunday, Dec. 24, at his home in Frederick.

He was the husband of Sina E. Connelly. They were married for 50 years.

Born Nov. 16, 1930, in Germantown, he was a son of the late Louis David and Dorothy Maye Lowe Connelly.

Mr. Connelly retired from his work as a brick mason.

He was an avid follower of Nascar driver Dale Earnhart and the Dallas Cowboys.

Surviving in addition to his wife are five children, Karen Moore and husband David of Jefferson, Darlene Butt and husband Maurice of Gaithersburg, Tina Aleshire and husband Isaac and Rodney Connelly Sr., all of Frederick, and Kenneth Connelly Jr. and wife Virginia of Brunswick; 16 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Janice Butt of Germantown; and three brothers, Robert Connelly of Mount Airy, Ralph Connelly of Boyds and John Rankin of Arizona.

Mr. Connelly is preceded in death by two brothers, Jim and Lewis Connelly.

Funeral services were held on Dec. 28, at Olin L. Molesworth Funeral Home at 26401 Ridge Road in Damascus.

Interment was in Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Frederick.
