If you happened to be driving down Green Valley Road last Friday afternoon-yes, you did hear the sound of African drums and songs.
Friends Meeting School in Ijamsville hosted the multicultural program "African Musical Roots: Exploring the Roots of American Folk Culture," presented by Akramah Cofie, dance instructor and choreographer for the University of Ghana's School of Performing Arts, and Slim Harrison, local ethnomusicologist.
